Peace & Conflict   Poetry

I can't take it anymore
We are no longer safe
In our own homes...

Innocents being killed
The guilty, all hail!
An 18 month old baby killed
Beaten and burnt to death by her own father
For what?
"Well she pee de bed”
If everyone who wet their bed,
Was to be sentenced to death
How many of us would be alive today?

A young boy,
Not accustomed to house parties
Goes to a friends house party
'At least it would be safer' he thinks to himself
Never would he think that he would be stabbed
By outsiders that don’t even belong

This is my song
This is my sad cry
My heart carries this unbearable burden
As I feel for the relatives of these people
When will it all cease?
When will the blood stop running?
When?

I ask myself the same thing everytime I listen to news..... sigh....

The truth is spoken.

I can see why you would write this poem. We all witness these horrific acts daily, whether on the news or just looking out their window.
