9/11 will remain the darkest day of modern world history. On this very day some terrorists gave the message to the world that a greater effort had to be made to make this world a safer place. 9/11 changed the thinking of all the nations of the world. Security has become the main concern of all of these nations. That day gave the message that all the nations of the world should join hands in combating against terrorism. In fact, all nations of the world condemned the attacks and pledged their support in the fight against terrorism.

But some people, who had their own vested interests, used this horrific event to their advantage. Instead of uniting all the nations of the world, they started a media campaign against Muslims. These people tried to paint a picture of Islam as a religion of hatred, painting all the Muslims as terrorists. In fact these are the people that are strengthening the hands of those terrorists. Islam is a religion of peace, which is against terrorism in all its forms. According to the teachings of Islam, killing of one man means killing all humanity. How can a religion, which believes the killing of a man is killing humanity in its entirety, preach terrorism? Muslim history tells us that whenever Muslims conquered a nation, they gave them peace and respected their rights.

In today's modern world, Muslims are being victimized and are living with state sponsored terrorism. Muslims of Palestine, Kashmir, Chechnya, Burma, and Thailand are facing state sponsored terrorism and reside in a living hell. So here I ask, who is the terrorist; a Muslim or some one else? But here I will say that even figure of hands are also different from each other. Hawkish elements in the western world point their finger towards Pakistan in terms of Pakistan as a country, which is harboring terrorism. This is a very big misconception. No Pakistani national was involved in the attacks of 9/11, all the captured terrorists are not of Pakistani origin.

On the contrary, Pakistan is a country which itself is a victim of terrorism; and being a civilized nation of the world, knows its responsibilities in the war against terrorism. In fact, Pakistan is the front line state in the war against terrorism. No other country of the world has so much at stake in this war; Pakistan has given more sacrifices than any other country of the world in this war. Hundreds of Pakistani soldiers have died in fighting terrorists. Even the President of Pakistan has survived three bids on his life by terrorists.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan has also survived one attempt on his life. Pakistan has single handedly captured more terrorists than all the nations of the world. These include: Khalid Sheikh (Master Mind of 9/11 attacks) and Abu Faraj Al-libi (No. 3 in Al-Qaida). Pakistan provides logistics support in the war against terrorism and thousands of Pakistani troops are deployed on the borders to hunt for Al-Qaida and other terrorist fugitives. All the leaders of the world appreciate Pakistan’s efforts in the war against terrorism. Pakistan's role in this fight is very crucial for the eradication of terrorism.

Terrorism has no religion. and no religion of the world supports terrorism in any form. Just because the majority of the terrorists were Muslims, does not mean that all Muslims are terrorists and Islam is a religion of hatred. Terrorism is a global problem and for the success of the war against terrorism, all the nations of the world, regardless of their religion, have to join hands.

al salamu alaykum, dear brother, you're absolutely correct in what you said about the absence of the word "terrorism" in Islamic faith, but I have some concerns about the way you ended your article: it sounds too pro-pakistani-government....legitimizing Musharraf's dictatorship in Pakistan, and making the audience feel that joining the US in its decisions is the right thing to do. Please consider that our region is full of dictators, and that this article talks about Pakistan in particular.
